Jack Robert Sackrider Jr., 32, was arrested Sunday at the sheriff's office as he was being questioned in the disappearance of his live-in girlfriend, Tina Ray Foligno, 40.

After Foligno was reported missing Thursday by family and friends, investigators found her automobile Friday in a cemetery.

Evidence in and around the car suggested foul play, Amador Undersheriff Karl Knobelauch said.

Robert Ford, 43, died Sunday when he collapsed and fell into an Auburn-area water canal, according to Sgt. Wayne Williams.

Officials want to make sure life runs as smoothly as possible for county government and the people it serves Jan. 1. Besides fixing computers, county staff are working on public education and setting up an emergency operations center that will open in late December.
