Jason at 37signals offers a list of, uh, 11 things that aren’t Web 2.0 – all of which point to the fact that this is a revolution not of technology, but of mindset.

Okay, I admit it. I was skeptical at first of this article which describes Web 2.0 as a rain forest. But it really is a great metaphor. HOWEVER, more importantly, their fictional(?) poodle anecdote is an exceptional way to impart the spirit of The Shift to others.

Why Time Warner has fallen in love with AOL, again
This New York Times article chronicles the shift in perspective from mother company Time Warner about its primary Internet property – and Web 1.0 poster child – AOL. The upshot is that AOL is finally making its content free! This certainly doesn’t make them the new Web 2.0 darling, but it illustrates how The Shift is affecting organizations traditionally stuck in the old ways.
